About the artist

Oliver Bonhomme is a multifaceted artist, renowned primarily for his illustrative work, though his role as an artistic director, particularly at Studio BK, which he established, is equally significant. Studio BK encompasses a wide range of artistic endeavors, from video mapping and light displays to theatrical staging.

Our spotlight is on Oliver Bonhomme as an illustrator. His portfolio is remarkable, showcasing both persistent elements from his early career and innovative experiments.

After completing his studies at Hercules Emile Cohl in Lyon in 2010, Bonhomme started collaborating with Le Monde and the Washington Post, honing his skill in depicting reality with a unique touch. His conceptual illustrations are versatile, covering a broad spectrum of subjects, from politics and economics to societal concerns and current events.

His foray into the realm of comics came later, under the mentorship of Joseph Safieddine, resulting in his debut book, L’Homme Sans Rêve.

From that point, Bonhomme's creative boundaries expanded, as he demonstrated the capacity to illustrate virtually anything, from the realities of travel and urban landscapes to the nuances of emotions and fears. His techniques are equally diverse, ranging from digital illustrations to hybrid digital and handcrafted pieces, and others showcasing a deft application of pencils and watercolors.

What remains constant is his distinctive style, instantly recognizable and extraordinary in its ability to merge surreal scenes, pop art cuts, and vivid colors and shapes into a cohesive image.
