About the artist

Gregory Fromenteau's artistic journey began in the nurturing environment of his youth, where he was immersed in a variety of artistic activities by his supportive parents. His initial foray into the world of art was through classical painting, which not only laid a strong foundation but also equipped him with skills that continue to serve his creative pursuits today. A standout in his painting group as the sole child, Fromenteau's passion for drawing was profoundly ignited by the dynamic realm of comics, a medium he remains a devoted enthusiast of.

From a budding musician to an accomplished artist, Fromenteau's career path took a decisive turn when he discovered VCS, a leading academic institution for drawing. This pivotal moment led him to specialize in 3D, culminating in a Master's degree. Despite facing industry challenges post-graduation, Fromenteau's tenacity saw him through an internship and subsequent work on notable animated series and 3D projects, including contributions to the video game industry.

A significant chapter in Fromenteau's career unfolded over 15 years at Ubisoft, where he wore many hats, from Level Artist to Artistic Director on the renowned Rainbow Six. His tenure was marked by a holistic experience, contributing to every aspect from modeling to texturing in smaller teams, and later, leading as a director of photography on Assassin's Creed. His time at Ubisoft was not only professionally fulfilling but also personally rewarding, as evidenced by his memorable interactions with fans at the Six Invitational.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Fromenteau's personal passion for drawing led to the creation of two artbooks, "Out of Scale - Vol 1 and 2," a project that began as a simple sharing of drawings on social media and blossomed into a labor of love that brought joy to many during challenging times.

His art style, a blend of influences from comic book greats like Jean Giraud and Frank Miller, has evolved into a unique signature that resonates with audiences. While he holds a deep respect for the comic book medium, Fromenteau's preference for variety and new challenges has led him to explore different creative avenues rather than committing to a single narrative universe.

Fromenteau's work often features elements of fantasy and science fiction, drawing inspiration from his extensive library of books and a vivid imagination. His fascination with the grace of whales, despite not being a fan of sea life himself, reflects his ability to transcend personal experience in favor of artistic expression. As a creative conductor, he skillfully combines elements he admires to create compelling works of art.

Joining Art4Fans Signature, Fromenteau brings a unique format to his followers, offering limited and numbered editions of his work. His decision to collaborate with the platform underscores his commitment to providing exclusive experiences for his audience. If he were to be a sea animal, Fromenteau humorously chooses the killer whale, appreciating its intelligence, agility, and the absence of predators, a metaphor that aptly reflects his approach to navigating the creative seas of the art world.
