About the artist

Marie Mohanna, a Paris-based French graphic novelist and illustrator. She pursued her education at ECV in Paris, where she took courses in graphic design, typography, illustration, and academic drawing. This academic background helped her to cultivate a distinctive drawing style that features eerie, dreamlike, and symbolic settings.

Upon completing her studies, Marie embarked on a global journey that lasted for a year. Her travels took her to various parts of the world, but it was Japan that left the most profound impression on her. She revealed, "I've always been fascinated by Japanese prints. However, my visit to Japan introduced me to a novel printing technique, and that's when I first encountered risograph printing, which I quickly grew fond of." Her experiences in Japan had a significant impact on her artistic approach, leading her to incorporate riso printing into her work whenever possible. The use of risography allows her to emphasize the vibrant and striking colors that are a hallmark of her art.

Marie's artwork often features landscapes and scenes from mythology, and she draws continuous inspiration from architecture and science fiction. She has recently finished a series depicting her travels to Japan and is now in the process of creating another series focused on her home city, Paris.
