About the artist

Luke Schroeder is an artist whose journey began in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Lexington, Virginia. With roots in New Jersey and a childhood spent in Norfolk, his formative years were steeped in the beauty of nature, which would later influence his artistic expression. After graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in philosophy, Luke embarked on his professional art career, driven by a lifelong passion for drawing that started as a child.

Self-taught beyond his high school art classes, Luke's initial aversion to painting gave way to a desire for color and depth, leading him to self-teach painting using affordable materials. This hands-on learning experience resonated with him, as he discovered the liberating nature of paint, which could be easily corrected and built anew, much like life itself.

His artistic evolution led him to a unique style he describes with terms such as "metaphysical expressionism" or "psychedelic humanism." Luke's creative process is organic, evolving from basic gestures into intricate images that are not replicas but original visions, inviting viewers to engage with their consciousness and existence.

Based in the Rogue River Valley, Oregon, Luke maintains a studio where he creates and shares his art. He also travels across the United States, showcasing his work at music festivals and events, and performing live art. His art serves as an invitation to explore one's consciousness and to embrace the transformative power of creativity, wisdom, and love.
