About the artist

Born in Toulouse in 1994, André Derainne spent his entire childhood in Bordeaux before moving on to the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, where he studied illustration for five years.

Since then, he has been creating illustrations for various publications, notably for The New Yorker, Libération, The New York Times, Die Zeit, L’Obs, as well as for numerous magazines in France and abroad, such as Fooding, The Gourmand, Nez, and Kiblind.

He devotes the rest of his time entirely to his personal illustration projects, which have led to several exhibitions in recent years in Paris, Seoul, Bordeaux, Lille, and more.

In September 2019, he joined the artistic residency Villa Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, where he began writing his first graphic novel, One Storm a Day, which was published in September 2021 by the editions Kéribus.
